Mary creates colorful folk style art prints, Polish Wycinanki style papercut art, downloadable coloring pages, personalized items, Monogram initial prints, greeting cards, tea towels, sticker sheets. All her products are designed, printed, and hand-made in Rhode Island! Mary uses her experience of Fashion Illustration and Surface Pattern Design to create intricate and unique pieces.
Groovity Designs is inspired by Mary’s fascination with Henna designs, folk art, and Zentangle art. All of the designs illustrate textures Mary has seen on her travels around the world; landscape, nature, and architecture. Groovity Designs represents Mary’s heritage, Polish and Russian, and her style is influenced by folk art from those countries and Eastern Europe.
Mary has been interested in pattern design since she was a young girl; working with embroidery, needlepoint, counted cross-stitch, quilting, and crochet. She studied Fashion Illustration in college and later landed a job in jewelry design. Mary had the opportunity to live in Hong Kong to run a large design department, which opened her eyes to the world market and everything it has to offer.
