If you are looking to visit Newport on Memorial Day weekend, make sure to stop by Fort Adams State Park and check out the Boots on the Ground For Heroes Memorial display. Since 2016, each year on Memorial Day weekend, Operation Stand Down Rhode Island (OSDRI) puts on a stunning display of over 7,000 military boots embellished with name cards and flags honoring the American soldiers that lost their lives in the Global War on Terror. The boots will be on display from 8:00 am on the 28th to 6:00 pm on Memorial Day, the 31st.
